The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 204 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Four people were arrested.
Man Charged with Impaired Driving CK23022803
Last night, around 8:30 p.m. emergency crews responded to a serious two vehicle collision on Maple Line in Dover Township.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that a man driving up pick-up truck westbound on Maple Line re-ended the car in front of him, causing the car to leave the roadway and strike a hydro pole.
The driver of the truck was treated at the scene by paramedics. The driver of the car was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical attention.
Through investigation, police believed the man driving the truck was driving while impaired by alcohol. He was arrested and transported to police headquarters for breath tests.
The 60-year-old Pain Court man was charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm. He was released pending a future court date of May 29, 2023.
Total damage was estimated at $70,000.

Suspicious Vehicle Complaint Leads to Arrest CK23022826
Last night, around 11:00 p.m. police responded to the report of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of a business on Grand Avenue West in Chatham.
Officers located the vehicle and through investigation determined that a passenger in the vehicle was wanted on an outstanding warrant for drug possession.
The 42-year-old Chatham man was arrested and released pending a future court date of June 12, 2023.
Man Charged with Being Intoxicated in a Public Place CK22032833
Just before 1:00 a.m. this morning, police responded to a person welfare check in the parking lot of a residential building on Pine Street in Chatham.
Officers located the man, who was unable to care for himself.
The 31-year-old Chatham man was arrested and transported to police headquarters for his own safety. He was charged with being intoxicated in a public place and released when sober.
Theft of Trailer in Chatham CK23022669
Sometime Tuesday night between 8:15 p.m. and 11:15 p.m. unknown suspect(s) stole a red and black dump trailer from a business on National Road.
The trailer was last seen with Ontario license plate R53 98H. Value of the theft has been estimated at $13,000.
