Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 158 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Seven people were arrested and five were on outstanding warrants.
Woman Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK24010047
At 1:18 p.m., police responded to Raleigh Street in Chatham for a theft investigation.
Upon arrival, officers located the woman and confirmed she was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court. She was arrested and transported to police headquarters.
The 37-year of Chatham woman was charged with failing to attend court and mischief. She was held pending a bail hearing.
Woman Arrested for Obstructing Justice CK24010055
On November 2, 2023, police arrested and charged the woman with obstructing a peace officer. She was released with a court date of December 4, 2023. When the woman failed to attend for a scheduled court appearance a warrant was issued for her arrest.
On March 5, 2024, at 3:16 p.m., the woman attended the Ontario Court of Justice and was arrested. She was released with a new court date of March 18, 2024.
Man Arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK24010061
At 2:48 p.m., police responded to Jeffery Street in Chatham for an unrelated matter. While at the located, officers located the man and confirmed he was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court. The man was arrested and transported to police headquarters.
The 54- year-old Chatham man currently faces the following charges: failing to attend court and failing to comply with a probation order. He was released with conditions and a future court date of April 15, 2024.
Woman Arrested for Impaired Driving CK24010071
At 4:20 p.m., police responded to Richmond Street in Chatham to check on the well-being of a woman found unconscious in the driver’s seat of a parked vehicle.
Upon arrival, officer believed the woman was impaired by an intoxicating substance and arrested her. She was transported to police headquarters for tests.
The 31-year-old Chatham woman was charged with impaired driving by drugs and failure/refusal to comply with the demand. She was released with conditions and a future court date of March 18, 2024.
Woman Arrested for Theft CK24010097
On December 28, 2024, the woman entered the LCBO on Wellington Street in Chatham and removed items from the shelves. The woman exited the store without paying. The incident was captured via surveillance footage which aided in identifying the woman.
When the woman could not be located a warrant was issued for her arrest.
On March 5, 2024, at 8:18 p.m., the 39-year-old Chatham woman was located on Jeffrey Street in Chatham and arrested. She was charged with theft and possession of stolen property. She was released with a future court date of March 25, 2024.
