Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 178 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Seven people were arrested and three were on outstanding warrants.
Man Arrested for Criminal Harassment CK24009540
At 3:56 p.m., police responded to Selton Line in Orford Township for a disturbance.
Officers received information the man attended the home and was attempting to gain entry. The man was also wanted in two other incidents for the same behaviour.
The 36-year-old London man was arrested and charged with criminal harassment and three counts of failing to comply with a release order. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
Man Arrested for Impaired Driving CK24009574
At 6:40 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle collision in the parking lot of a business on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg.
The officer believed the driver was under the influence of alcohol and arrested him. The man was transported to police headquarters for further tests.
The 21-year-old Sarnia man was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit. He was released with conditions and a future court date of March 11, 2024.
Man Arrested for Preaching the Peace CK24009594
At 7:00 p.m., police responded to the area of St. Clair Street and McNaughton Avenue in Chatham after receiving numerous calls of a man acting erratically.
Officers attended and located the man under the influence of an intoxicating substance and arrested him.
The 33-year-old Chatham man was transported to police headquarters and held until he was sober.
Woman Arrested for Breach of the Peace CK24009628
On March 3, 2024, at 1:32 p.m., police responded to a disturbance at a home on Thornhill Crescent in Chatham.
Officer attended and learned the woman was highly intoxicated and attempted to assault others in the home.
The 26-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters. She was held until she was sober.
