Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 163 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Seven people was arrested and four were on outstanding warrants.
Woman Arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK24029151
At 10:43 a.m., police located the woman on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg. Officers confirmed the woman was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to theft investigations.
The 28-year-old Wallaceburg woman was arrested and released with a new court date. She is currently facing the following charges: resist arrest, possession of stolen property, two counts of theft and two counts of failing to attend court.
Man Arrested for Assault with a Weapon CK24029161
At 1:00 p.m., police observed the man on Duke Street in Chatham and confirmed he was wanted on an outstanding warrant related to an October 2023 assault investigation in Chatham. The man fled as police stopped to speak with him. After a short foot pursuit, the man was taken into custody.
The 32-year-old Chatham Kent man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. The man is currently facing the following charges: failing to attend court and two counts of assault with a weapon.
Man Arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK24029208
At 7:01 p.m., police responded to Colborne Street in Chatham for a trespassing investigation.
Upon arrival police located the man collecting his personal property from the backyard. Police confirmed he was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to an impaired driving investigation.
The 58-year-old Moraviantown man was arrested and released with a new court date. He is currently facing the following charges: failing to attend court, impaired driving, and possession of a controlled substance.
Man Arrested for Public Intoxication CK24029229
At 8:26 p.m., police responded to Tweedsmuir Avenue in Chatham for an intoxicated man attempting to enter vehicles in a parking lot.
Officers arrived on the scene and located the man. He was highly intoxicated and unable to care for himself.
The 19-year-old Chatham Kent man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held until sober. He was issued a Provincial Offences Notice for public intoxication.
Woman Arrested for Mischief CK24029241
At 9:46 p.m., police responded to Main Street in Bothwell for a mischief investigation.
Officers learned the victim was approached by two women who attempted to intimidate them. One woman threw a rock at a truck causing damage to the windshield. Officers located the woman and arrested her.
The 33-year-old Bothwell woman was transported to police headquarters, where she was released with conditions and a future court date of July 29, 2024. The woman was charged with mischief.
