The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to187 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Seven people were arrested and three on outstanding warrants.
Man and Woman Arrested for Bail Violations – CK24003822 / CK24003828
On Friday, January 26, 2024, at 4:05 p.m. while on regular patrol near Lacroix Street and Richmond Street in Chatham, a Chatham-Kent Police officer observed a man and woman on foot that he recognized from previous police involvement. The officer conducted a person stop because of the pair being the subjects of an open investigation for failing to comply with their release orders. The pair were located together with both being on conditions not to associate with each other.
The 27-year-old Wallaceburg woman was arrested for failing to comply with her release order. Incident to arrest, a search was conducted, and officers located a large quantity of drugs on her person.

The woman was charged with five counts of failing to comply with her release order. The man was charged with six counts of failing to comply with his release order. Both were charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance with the purpose of trafficking.
Both were transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
Woman Arrested for Impaired Driving- CK24003898
In the early morning of Saturday, January 27, 2024, at approximately 1:06 a.m. the Chatham-Kent Police responded to a single motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Bloomfield and Riverview Drive in Chatham. No injuries were sustained. Through investigation, a 23-year-old Chatham woman was found to be operating her motor vehicle while intoxicated by alcohol and was arrested.
The accused was arrested and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters to provide breath samples. The accused’s breath results were more than double the legal limit.
The accused was charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus. When sober, the accused was released with conditions and a future court date of February 12, 2024.
Man Arrested for Outstanding Warrant- CK24003911
In the early morning of Saturday, January 27, 2024, at approximately 2:50 a.m., a 32-year-old Chatham man was located in the area of Dufferin Avenue, Wallaceburg. The accused, known to police, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for trespassing at night, break and enter and theft under $5000.
The man was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
