On January 13th, 2024, at approximately 4:21 p.m., the Chatham-Kent Police Service received information that a man had attended an address on Prince Street South, Chatham, contrary to his release order conditions. Through investigation, police determined that the man had attempted to enter the residence through the front door, however, upon finding it locked and the occupants unwilling to let him inside, the man departed from the property.
Police located the man a short time later at his own residence and arrested him for failing to comply with a release order. The 20-year-old Chatham man was ultimately transported to police headquarters where he was held in custody pending a show cause bail hearing.
Man Arrested for Impaired Operation (CK24002001)
On January 14th, 2024, at approximately 1:46 a.m., a member of the Chatham-Kent Police Service was conducting general patrol-related duties in Wallaceburg when he observed a vehicle fail to stop at a red light. A traffic stop on the subject vehicle was subsequently conducted, and through investigation police formed a suspicion that the driver had recently consumed alcohol. The driver was then arrested and transported to police headquarters where two additional breath samples were obtained, both registering over the legal limit. The 32-year-old Wallaceburg man was ultimately charged with having more than the prescribed allowable amount of alcohol in his blood (80+), as well as several other Highway Traffic Act offences.
