Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 166 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Eleven people were arrested, and six were on outstanding warrants.
Man Arrested for Breaching a Conditional Sentence Order CK24001558
On January 8, 2024, a warrant was issued for the man’s arrest for violating his release agreement.
On January 11, 2024, the man attended Chatham-Kent Police Service and turned himself in to the police.
The 41-year-old Harwich Township man was arrested and held pending a bail hearing.
Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK24001584
At 1:55 p.m., while on general patrol on Welch Line in Harwich Township, an officer observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed. The officer conducted a traffic stop and discovered the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant issued by the London Police Service for intimate partner violence charges.
The 21-year-old Ontario man was issued two Provincial Offences Notices. He was also arrested on the strength of the warrant and turned over to the London Police Service.
Man Arrested for Probation Violation CK24001603
At 3:19 p.m., police received information a warrant was issued for the man’s arrest for violating the curfew condition outlined in his probation order.
At 6:12 p.m., the 31-year-old Chatham man was located and arrested on Turquoise Court in Chatham. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
Woman Arrested for Probation Violation CK24001639
At 7:44 p.m., an officer on general patrol conducted a traffic stop on McNaughton Avenue in Chatham.
Through investigation, the officer discovered the passenger was wanted on an outstanding warrant for breaching a probation order.
The 27-year-old Wallaceburg woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters. She was charged with failing to comply with a probation order. She was released with conditions and a future court date.
Man Arrested for Mischief CK24001641
On July 24, 2023, police responded to a family dispute on Mull Road in Harwich Township. Through investigation, the man was arrested and charged with mischief. A warrant was issued for his arrest when he failed to attend a court appearance in relation to this investigation.
On January 11, 2024, at 7:55 p.m., the man was located on Taylor Avenue in Chatham.
The 29-year-old Chatham man was arrested and later released with a new court date of February 26, 2024.
Man Arrested for Public Intoxication CK24001646
At 8:24 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on the man who was reported to be standing in the middle of Longwoods Road in Chatham Township.
Officers arrived on the scene and found the man intoxicated and unable to care for himself.
The 50-year-old Chatham man was arrested and transported to police headquarters. He was held until sober.
Man Arrested for Bail Violation CK24001648
On January 8, 2024, the man was arrested for threatening the superintendent at a Fifth Street residential building in Chatham. He was released with conditions not to attend the address.
On January 11, 2024, at 9:01 p.m., police were alerted that the man had been captured via surveillance video on the premises. Officers attended and located the man. Upon a search incident to arrest, the man was found carrying a large knife.
The 35-year-old Chatham-Kent man was charged with failing to comply with an undertaking and carrying a concealed weapon. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
Man Arrested for Assault with a Weapon CK24001650
At 9:12 p.m., police responded to Louella Court in Chatham for a neighbour dispute.
Upon arrival, officers learned a verbal argument between neighbours escalated when one man threw an empty beer bottle at others.
The 19-year-old Chatham man was charged with assault with a weapon. He was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of February 26, 2024.

On January 12, 2024, at 12:19 a.m. police returned to Louella Court in Chatham for a neighbour dispute.
Police learned the dispute continued, and the man threatened to harm his neighbours. The man was arrested.
The 44-year-old Chatham man was charged with two counts of uttering threats. He was transported to police headquarters and was released with conditions and a future court date of February 26, 2024.
Man Charged for Highway Traffic Act Violations CK24001671
On January 12, 2024, at 12:56 a.m., an officer on general patrol observed a motorcycle failing to stop at a red light.
The officer recognized the driver and attended his residence. As officers arrived, the man pulled into the driveway driving the motorcycle. The officer confirmed the man did not possess a valid driver’s license to drive the motorcycle.
The 30-year-old Chatham man was issued several Provincial Offences Notices for Highway Traffic Act violations.
Man Arrested for Mischief CK24001672
On January 12, 2024, at 1:02 a.m., police responded to St. Clair Street in Chatham when a man was observed tampering with utility lines.
Officers arrived on the scene and located the man.
The 25-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and charged with mischief. He was released with a future court date.
Man Arrested for Possession of Stolen Property CK24001692
On January 12, 2024, at 5:04 a.m., officers located the man on Park Ave East in Chatham while responding to another incident. Officers confirmed the man was wanted on outstanding warrants, including a committal warrant.
The 54-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
