Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 117 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Two people were arrested, and two were on outstanding warrants.
Man Arrested on DNA Warrant CK24008578
At 8:13 p.m., police located the man on St. Clair Street in Chatham. Officers confirmed he was wanted on an outstanding warrant and arrested him.
The 53-year-old Chatham man was transported to headquarters and processed. He was released unconditionally.
Man Arrested for Bail Violations CK24008585
At 8:59 p.m., an officer on general patrol conducted a traffic stop on Victoria Street in Wallaceburg.
Through investigation, the officer learned a passenger was bound by several release orders and prohibition orders with conditions. The conditions prohibited him from possessing any weapons/ammunition, drugs and/or paraphernalia, and to be outside his residence without his surety. He also was to reside at a specific address.
The man was not with his surety and was arrested. As a result of a search incident to arrest the man was found possessing ammunition, and scales. Further investigation revealed the man did not live at the address listed on his release papers.
The 32-year-old Dresden man was charged with possession of a ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, and four counts of failing to comply with a release order. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
Police Seeking the Public’s Assistance CK24008314
The Chatham-Kent Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in a stolen vehicle investigation.
Sometime between Tuesday, February 20, 2024, and February 24, 2024, two snowmobiles and a snowmobile trailer were stolen from the parking lot of Rob’s Automotive Repair on Richmond Street in Chatham.
The snowmobiles and trailer are described as the following:
• orange 2007 Artic Cat, model F10, registration number 96988.
• yellow 1998 Ski Doo last registration number 8AE647
• black 2018 Home trailer, body style PF, last seen with Ontario License W6250Y
