Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 135 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Four people were arrested and two on outstanding warrants.
Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK24007435
At 7:16 a.m. police responded to Tim Horton’s on Third Street for a disturbance.
Upon arrival, officers located the man and confirmed he was wanted on an outstanding warrant resulting from a May 2023 Mischief investigation.
The 58-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and charged with failing to attend court and mischief. He was released with a future court date.
Man Arrested for Counterfeit Money CK24006970
At 8:10 p.m. officers on patrol located the man on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg.
Officers confirmed the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant resulting from a February 15, 2024 investigation.
The 35-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with possession of counterfeit money and uttering counterfeit money. He was released with a future court date of March 11, 2024.
Man Arrested for Break and Enter CK24007529
At 7:38 p.m. police responded to an apartment on Delaware Avenue in Chatham for a break and enter.
Through investigation, officers learned the man, armed with a knife, forced entry into an apartment and threatened the occupants. The man fled the apartment when police were called.
Officers quickly located the man in the backyard of a nearby residence. The man was safely taken into custody and the knife was recovered.
Upon a search incident to arrest the man was found in possession of suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl.
The 42-year-old Chatham man was charged with break and enter, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, uttering threats, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
Man Arrested for Public Intoxication CK24007580
On February 19, 2024, at 5:06 a.m. police responded to Peter Street South in Bothwell for a disturbance.
Officers arrived on the scene and located the man. He was found intoxicated and unable to care for himself.
The 25-year-old Bothwell man was arrested for public intoxication. He was transported to police headquarters and held until he was sober.
