Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 140 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Five people were arrested, and four were on outstanding warrants.
Man Arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK23063737
At 8:52 a.m., police responded to Tim Horton’s on Third Street in Chatham for a threats investigation.
Upon arrival, officers confirmed the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court concerning failing to comply with a probation order. The man was arrested and transported to police headquarters.
The 38-year-old Chatham-Kent man has been charged with failing to comply with a probation order and two counts of failing to attend court. He was held pending a bail hearing.
Woman Arrested for Bail Violations CK23063787
On November 24, 2023, the court released the woman with conditions after being charged with failing to comply with an undertaking, assault with a weapon, two count counts of assault, four counts of theft, and four counts of possession of stolen property. She was also released with a surety.
On November 29, 2023, the woman’s surety revoked the surety agreement. A warrant was issued for the woman’s arrest.
On December 14, 2023, at 3:16 p.m., the 29-year-old Chatham woman attended the Chatham-Kent Police headquarters about an unrelated matter. The woman was arrested and held pending a bail hearing.
Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrants CK23063801
On December 14, 2023, at 8:23 p.m., police responded to Landings Passage in Chatham for a possible break and enter a home.
Officers arrived in the area and located a man who was wanted on several outstanding warrants. The man was arrested, and suspected cocaine was found on his person.
The 31-year-old Chatham man currently faces the following charges: assault, assault causing bodily harm, forcible confinement, failing to comply with an undertaking, sexual assault, mischief, and possession of a controlled substance. And two counts of failing to attend court. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
Man Arrested for Probation Order Violation CK23063839
On December 13, 2023, a warrant was issued for the man’s arrest for violating his probation order.
On December 15, 2023, at 12:44 a.m., police found the man walking on the Third Street Bridge in Chatham. The warrant was confirmed, and the man was arrested.
The 41-year-old Chatham-Kent man was charged with failing to comply with a probation order. He was transported to police headquarters and released with a future court date of January 22, 2024.
