Youth Arrested for Assault CK23044329
On June 27, 2023, police responded to Chestnut Drive in Chatham for an assault investigation.
Through investigation, police learned that a verbal argument between the youth and their father escalated when they began striking the father. The mother and a sibling attempted to intervene and were assaulted by the youth. The sibling sustained minor physical injuries. The youth left home before the police arrived. A warrant was issued for his arrest when he could not be located.
On August 24, 2023, at 11:31 a.m., police located the youth, and he was arrested.
The 15-year-old Chatham youth was charged with assault with a weapon and three counts of assault. He was released with a future court date of September 25, 2023.
Woman Arrested for Probation Violations CK23044339
At 12:11 p.m., police responded to a report of a woman who appeared disoriented walking on King Street in Chatham.
Police arrived in the area and located the woman. Officers confirmed the woman was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with a probation order.
The 42-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and released with a future court date of September 25, 2023.
Man Arrested for London Police Service CK23044416
At 7:08 p.m., officers responded to a request by the London Police Service to arrest a man from Hall Street North.
The 21-year-old Blenheim man was arrested and turned over to London Police Service.
(Incident Update) Woman Arrested for Robbery CK23044013/ CK23044426
On August 20, 2023, at 10:53 p.m., police responded to Delaware Avenue in Chatham for a disturbance.
Through investigation, police learned the victim was assaulted in his home, and an electronic device was taken. The scene was analyzed for forensic evidence. Officers were able to identify three suspects through video surveillance.
Three men were arrested for this incident between August 22, 2023, and August 23, 2023.
On August 24, 2023, at 7:54 p.m., the 40-year-old Harwich Township woman turned herself in to the police. Along with the three men previously arrested, she was also charged with robbery, assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm. She was released with a future court date of October 16, 2023.
Storm update
During the storm, officers were kept occupied throughout the night, addressing various concerns arising from the strong winds and heavy rainfall. Specifically, they responded to 11 alarm-related incidents, conducted 22 property checks, addressed 20 incidents involving traffic hazards, and managed 39 incidents of downed wires. Additionally, a single collision was reported in which a falling tree struck a vehicle.
