Man Arrested for Assault CK23044095
On April 15, 2023, police responded to a domestic disturbance on Adelaide Street North in Chatham.
Through investigation, officers learned the man and the woman had been in a verbal argument that escalated when the man head-butted the woman. The woman received minor physical injuries to her upper lip.
On August 23, 2023, at 8:47 a.m., the man attended Chatham-Kent Police headquarters and turned himself in to the police.
The 58-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault. He was released with conditions and a court date of September 25, 2023.
Man Arrested for Bail Violations CK23044119
At 11:23 a.m., police responded to a business on St. Clair Street in Chatham for a bail violation investigation.
Upon arrival, police learned the man had been released by the court on May 10, 2023, with conditions prohibiting him from attending the business. The man was located inside the business and arrested.
The 52-year-old Chatham-Kent man was charged with failing to comply with a release order. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
Three Men Arrested for Robbery CK23044013/ CK23044156/ CK23044202
On August 20, 2023, at 10:53 p.m., police responded to Delaware Avenue in Chatham for a disturbance.
Through investigation, police learned the victim was assaulted in his home, and an electronic device was taken. The scene was analyzed for forensic evidence. Officers were able to identify three suspects through video surveillance.
On August 22, 2023, at 7:12 p.m., the 38-year-old Blenheim man turned himself in to police and was released with conditions and a future court date of October 2, 2023.
On August 23, 2023, at 2:48 p.m., the 40-year-old Chatham man turned himself into police and released with a future court date of October 16, 2023.
On the same date at 7:27 p.m., the 21-year-old Chatham man turned himself into the police and was released with a future court date of October 2, 2023.
All three were charged with robbery, assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm.
Man Arrested for Theft CK23044274
On August 24, 2023, at 3:45 a.m., police responded to a hotel on Richmond Street in Chatham for a theft investigation.
Upon arrival, police learned the man entered the hotel’s front lobby, stole a set of keys, and left the premises. Through surveillance footage, officers identified the man from previous interactions.
The man was located a short time later, and the keys were recovered.
The 46-year-old Chatham-Kent man was charged with theft and possession of stolen property. He was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of September 25, 2023.
