Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 148 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Six people were arrested and one person on an outstanding warrant.
Male Arrested on Outstanding Warrant – CK24018760
Yesterday afternoon an officer on general patrol in Chatham located a male in the area of Wellington Street East known to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for Failing to Comply with Probation Order. The 37-year old male was arrested on the strength of the warrant, transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for booking and later released with a future court date.
Male Arrested for Mischief and Failing to Comply with Release Conditions – CK24018809
Last night police responded to a residence on Taylor Avenue in Chatham for a domestic dispute. Through investigation it was determined that the male party at the residence had broken a camera on the property and was on release conditions relating to the female at the residence. The 32-year old male was arrested for Mischief Under $5000 and 5 counts of Failing to Comply with his Release Order. The male was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for booking and held pending a bail hearing.
Male Arrested for Impaired Operation – CK24018842
Last night police responded to a single motor vehicle collision in the area of Pinehurst Line in Harwich. Through investigation the officer believed the male driver was driving while impaired by alcohol. The male was arrested and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for breath tests. The 52-year old male of Harwich was charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit and was later released with a future court date of May 13, 2024.
Male Arrested for Weapons Offences – CK24018848
Early this morning police responded to the area of King Street West for an altercation involving a knife. The male involved fled on police arrival. The 21-year old male was located shortly thereafter and arrested for Possession of Weapon For Dangerous Purpose, Obstruct Peace Officer and 2 Counts of Failing to Comply with Probation Order. The male was then transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for booking.

Through investigation the officer believed the male driver was driving while impaired by alcohol. The male was arrested and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for breath tests. The 33-year old male of St. Thomas was charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit and was later released with a future court date of May 13, 2024
