Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 209 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Eight people were arrested, and four were on outstanding warrants.
Man Arrested for Bail Violations CK24033682
At 12:29 p.m., police located the man on Elgin Street in Wallaceburg. The man was wanted on a warrant for failing to comply with his Conditional Sentence Order. The man was prohibited from leaving his home unless under very specific exceptions and was found breaching this condition.
The 24-year-old Wallaceburg man was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
As a result of the bail hearing, the man was remanded into custody, transported to Southwest Regional Detention Centre until his next court appearance on July 22, 2024. At that time, he will appear by video.
Woman Arrested for a Probation Violation CK24033699
At 1:54 p.m., police located the woman on Wellington Street West in Chatham. The woman was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with her probation order.
The 38-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was transported to police headquarters, where she was held pending a bail hearing. She is currently facing the following charges: failing to comply with a probation order.
As a result of the bail hearing, she was released by the court with conditions and a court date of July 31, 2024.

At 3:30 p.m., police located the woman on Dover Street in Chatham. The woman was wanted for failing to attend court in relation to a March 2024 theft investigation.
The 44-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was released with a new court date. She is currently facing the following charges: theft, possession of stolen property and two counts of failing to comply with an appearance notice.
Man arrested for Theft CK24033742
At 4:55 p.m., police responded to a retail business on St. Clair Street, near Pioneer Line, in Chatham.
The man was observed concealing merchandise on his person and leaving the store without making attempts to pay for the items. The man was located a short distance away and arrested.
The 27-year-old Chatham-Kent man was transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. He is currently facing the following charges: two counts of failing to comply with a release order, five counts of possession of stolen property and
five counts of theft.
Man Arrested for Unlawfully in a Dwelling CK24033768
At 7:05 p.m., police responded to Grand Avenue East for a break-and-enter.
Officers learned the occupants of the residence returned home to find the man, unknown to them, sleeping on the sofa. Officers found to be under the influence of an intoxicating substance.
The 48-year-old Sarnia man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held until sober.
Man Arrested for Weapons Offences CK24033770
At 7:20 p.m., police responded to a retail store on St. Clair Street, near McNaughton Avenue in Chatham for a weapons investigation.
Upon arrival, officers learned the man had been previously trespassed from the location. When an employee confronted the man, the man pulled a knife and pointed it in a threatening manner at two employees. The man left the store prior to police arrival but was located outside.
The 37-year-old Chatham-Kent man was transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. He is currently facing the following charges: possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, two counts of failing to comply with a probation order, two counts of assault, and two counts of assault with a weapon.
Woman Arrested for Surety Relief Warrant CK24033784
At 8:35 p.m., police located the woman on Grand Avenue West in Chatham. The woman was wanted on a Surety Relief Warrant.
The 27-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was transported to police headquarters, where she was held pending a bail hearing. She is currently facing the following charges: mischief, failing to comply with an undertaking and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
