The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events, including arrests, investigations, and other notable occurrences:

Arrests:
- 7 arrests were made throughout the day, including individuals wanted for outstanding warrants, failure to comply, and domestic-related offenses.

Date: January 09, 2025, Time: 15:59 Location: Dundas St W, Toronto
Details:
- Toronto Police Service contacted Chatham-Kent Police Service advising that a 31-year-old male from Brampton was held in their custody. The arrestee was held for an endorsed warrant for theft and possession under the value of $5000. Toronto Police Service agreed to release the arrestee with a court date (Form 10).

Date: January 10, 2025, Time: 0144 hrs Location: Lisgar St. Wallaceburg
Details:
- Officers conducted a traffic stop for a Highway Traffic Act (HTA) infraction. A 26-year-old male was located breaching the curfew condition of his release order. He was already out on three outstanding matters. He was held for bail.

Date: January 10, 2025, Time: 0109 hrs Location: Dufferin Ave. at Agness St. Wallaceburg
Details:
- Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere. R.I.D.E. program was executed at Dufferin Ave. at Agness St. Wallaceburg 12 vehicles were checked. No tests or infractions were performed.

Details:
- Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere. R.I.D.E. program was executed at Talbot St. W. Blenheim. 12 vehicles checked. No tests or infractions were performed.

Details:
- Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere. R.I.D.E. program was executed at Mill St. Tilbury 19 vehicles checked. No tests, 1 Highway Traffic Act (HTA) warning was given.

Date: January 10, 2025, Time: 0019 hrs Location: Grand Ave. W. and Keil Dr. Chatham
Details:
Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere. R.I.D.E. program was executed at Grand Ave. W. and Keil Dr. Chatham. 40 vehicles were checked. No tests performed; 1 Highway Traffic Act (HTA) warning was provided.
R.I.D.E Program
Originating in Etobicoke in 1977, the R.I.D.E. program first started as a local initiative to reduce impaired driving in the west end of Metropolitan Toronto. The event’s success led to Canada-wide adoption of R.I.D.E., now known as Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere. R.I.D.E. programs operate year-round, with a heavier emphasis during the winter holidays.
