Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 147 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Two people were arrested.
Man Arrested for Mischief CK24003146
At 6:44 a.m., police responded to Tim Horton’s on Third Street in Chatham for a disturbance.
Officers arrived and located a man interfering with business operations. The man was arrested on January 21, 2024, for a similar occurrence on Queen Street in Chatham.
The 32-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and charged with mischief. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing. He is currently facing the following charges: uttering threats, two counts of failing to comply with a probation order, and two counts of mischief.
Motor Vehicle Collisions
Yesterday, officers responded to a total of eight motor vehicle collisions across the Municipality. Out of these, four were single motor vehicle collisions where vehicles slid off the roadway. One vehicle struck a sign; two vehicles struck hydro poles, and the fourth slid into a ditch.
Fail to Remain CK24003150
At 8:03 a.m., police responded to a collision on the bridge on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg. An older model white Ram pickup truck travelled northbound on McNaughton Avenue attempted to pass a second vehicle on the right. The pickup truck struck the other vehicle, damaging the mirror. The driver stopped long enough to apologize, then left the scene.

Fail to Remain CK24003171
At 11:02 p.m., police responded to a public parking lot on the corner of Queen Street North and Prospect Street in Tilbury for a motor vehicle collision.
Approximately 10 minutes before contacting the police, the caller advised that a white SUV was reversing from a parking space and struck her vehicle, damaging the rear bumper. The vehicle left the scene.

Driver Charged Under the Highway Traffic Act CK24003229
At 6:13 p.m., police responded to Talbot Line, between West Ridge Line and Fargo Road, in Harwich Township for a motor vehicle collision.
Officers learned a Hyundai SUV rear-ended a Dodge pickup truck. The drivers did not sustain any physical injuries.
The driver of the Hyundai was charged with a Highway Traffic Act offence, and the vehicle was towed.
Driver Charged with Careless Driving CK24003252
At 8:28 p.m., police responded to Longwoods Road, between Centre Side Road and James Street, in Chatham Township for a motor vehicle collision.
Officers learned a Honda Civic collided with a Ford F150 pickup truck with a salter. The collision temporarily closed the road.
The driver of the Honda received minor injuries and was charged with careless driving.
