Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 139 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Four people were arrested, and three were on outstanding warrants.
Woman Arrested While in Custody CK23064795
On December 21, 2023, the woman was arrested and charged with causing a disturbance. She was transported to headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
While in custody and awaiting a bail hearing, the woman refused to exit her cell for processing. She was cautioned and continued to be uncooperative.
The 48-year-old woman was additionally charged with obstructing a peace officer.
Woman Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK23064812
At 10:35 a.m., officers located the woman on Grand Avenue West in Chatham while on general patrol.
The officers confirmed she was wanted on outstanding warrants, and she was arrested.
The 38-year-old Chatham-Kent woman currently faces the following charges: failing to attend court, impaired driving, four counts of theft, and four counts of possession of stolen property. She was transported directly to the courthouse for a bail hearing.
Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK23064938
On December 22, 2023, the Essex-Ontario Provincial Police contacted the Chatham-Kent Police to advise they had a man in custody wanted on a Chatham-Kent warrant.
The man was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
The 27-year-old Merlin man currently faces the following charges: uttering threats, assault, mischief, two counts of failing to attend court, two counts of breach of recognizance, four counts of assault with a weapon, and several driving offences.
