The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 187 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Eight people were arrested on outstanding warrants.
Woman Arrested for Probation Violation CK23043707
At 8:57 a.m., officers responded to Emily Street in Wallaceburg for a suspicious activity investigation. Police received information that a vehicle was in the driveway of a recently sold house, and someone was attempting to enter the house. The vehicle appeared to be occupied by three women.
Officers arrived on the scene and found all in order. However, one of the women was wanted on an outstanding warrant for a probation order violation.
The 31-year-old Wallaceburg woman was arrested and charged with failing to comply with a probation order. She was released with a court date of September 11, 2023.
Man Arrested for Fraud Offences CK23043849
On August 11, 2023, police began a fraud investigation in Wallaceburg. Police received information a purse had been stolen from a car, and the credit cards were used at several businesses in the area.
Through investigation, police obtained video surveillance and identified the suspects from previous incidents.
On August 21, 2023, at 10:35 p.m. police located and arrested the man.
The 43-year-old Wallaceburg man was charged with possession of stolen property, failing to comply with a probation order x2, fraud x 5, and unauthorized use of a credit card x 5. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
Man Arrested Assault with a Weapon CK23043865
On July 30, 2023, police responded to Edwy Street in Wallaceburg for a disturbance.
Police learned a physical altercation occurred between two men, where one used a 2X4 to assault the victim and smash the back window of his vehicle. When the man could not be located, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On August 21, 2023, police responded to a disturbance on Oak Street in Wallaceburg and located the man.
The 27-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with mischief, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and assault with a weapon. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
Woman Arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK23043868
On August 22, 2023, at 3:49 a.m., the woman was arrested by London Police Service.
The woman was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to an assault investigation where she was initially charged with assault, resisting arrest, and assaulting a police officer.
The 41-year-old London woman is charged with failing to attend court. She was transported to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
