Nathan Malott – Registered Nurse, Mobile Crisis Team
I was born and raised in Chatham where I have lived all my life. I remember as a child watching the Discovery Health channel on TV – I was always fascinated by the medical field, and always felt drawn to helping others who were experiencing difficult times – naturally nursing felt like a perfect fit. I started my career as a registered nurse working on an inpatient medical unit, and later transitioned to the emergency department where I remained for a while. It wasn’t until a bit later in my journey that I discovered my passion for the mental health field and helping those experiencing challenges with their mental wellbeing. I believe that everyone should have access to timely, high quality mental health support. Throughout the course of my work alongside the Chatham-Kent Police Service, I strive to facilitate this belief with every interaction I have in the community.
When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with the people I am close with. I love to be outdoors and in nature – relaxing, camping, ATVing, and exploring new places to name a few activities. I enjoy playing the guitar and have always had a passion for music. At the end of a long day, you will find me unwinding by listening to my favourite tunes.
I feel privileged to be able to help those in need and work in the community that I have always called home!
