The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 232 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Six people were arrested, and five were on outstanding warrants.
Man Arrested for Bail Violations CK23031429
At 6:42 a.m., police responded to an address on Michener Road in Chatham for a theft investigation.
While investigating, police learned the man was on two release orders with a curfew condition. Police confirmed the man violated this condition, and he was arrested.
The 39-year-old Chatham man was charged with two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
Man Arrested for Fraud CK23031503
On June 5 and 6, 2023, police responded to two separate thefts from vehicle investigations in Wallaceburg.
Through investigation, police learned the victims’ wallets were stolen from their vehicles. The stolen debit cards were used at several stores in Wallaceburg. Through surveillance footage, police could identify the same man involved in both incidents. A warrant was issued for his arrest when he could not be located.
On June 21, 2023, the man was located and arrested. He was charged with two counts of possession of stolen property and three counts of fraud. He was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of July 24, 2022.
Man and Woman Arrested on Outstanding Warrants CK23031516/CK23031519
At 1:57 p.m., police located the man and woman on King Street in Highgate.
Police confirmed they were both wanted on outstanding warrants, and they were arrested.
The 42-year-old Highgate man was arrested and charged with break and enter related to a March 17, 2023, investigation. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
The 40-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was arrested and charged with failing to comply with a release order and failing to attend court. She was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of July 24, 2023.
Man Arrested for Theft CK23031624
On February 15, 2023, police began investigating a gas theft from a business on Bloomfield Road in Chatham.
Through investigation, the man was identified. A warrant was issued for his arrest when he could not be located.
On June 21, 2023, at 9:05 p.m. Strathroy-Carodoc Police Service advised they had the man in custody.
The 52-year-old London man was charged with theft. SCPS released him with conditions and a future court date of July 24, 2023.
