CK23019782 – Weapons
On April 24th, 2023, during a traffic stop in the area of Gray St., Chatham, police detected a strong smell of marijuana and observed a portion of a Glock style handgun in the vehicle. The vehicle occupants, three 18 year old Chatham males, were placed under arrest. One of the males attempted to flee but was arrested after a brief foot pursuit. Police searched incident to the arrest and located a second handgun and an amount of controlled drugs and substances. The three males were charged with 18 separate offences, including firearms offences and possession of controlled substances for the purpose of trafficking. The males were subsequently released with a future court date.
CK23019849 – Break and Enter Into Commercial Compound
On April 25, 2023, police responded to a break and enter complaint into a business in the area of Horton Line, Harwich. The victim observed a suspect on video in the compound attempting to remove wire. Police attended and located a 41 year old Highgate man, hiding among spools of wire. The male was known to police and was arrested and charged for break and enter. He was transported to CKPS headquarters and held for bail.
