2024-2025 V.I.P. Winners

Nolan

Our Lady of Beauraing Council #1412, Knights of Columbus helped to recognize a student at Monsignor Uyen Catholic School for his winning design for the 2024-2025 V.I.P. t-shirt artistic design contest.

The plaque and winning design t-shirt were presented to Noah Ross today by Special Constable Hakr and Mr. Lazzarin.

Noah’s t-shirt design will be worn by the grade 5 V.I.P. graduates in the St. Clair District Catholic School Board in Chatham and St. Joseph Catholic School in Tilbury.

Public schools jolene wood

A student at Harwich Raleigh Public School was recognized for her winning design for the 2024-2025 V.I.P. t-shirt artistic design contest.

The plaque and winning design t-shirt were presented to Jolene Wood today by Mr. Marc Eskritt from the Optimist Club of Blenheim and Special Constable Koldyk of the Crime Prevention and Community Safety Section of Chatham-Kent Police Service.

Jolene’s design will be worn by all the grade 5 V.I.P. graduates in the public schools within the Municipality of Chatham-Kent and all the schools in Wallaceburg.

The V.I.P. program has been very effective in establishing positive community-police relationships over the years.  Students meet with their V.I.P. Officer on six different occasions and build a positive rapport that can last a lifetime.  Lessons taught to students include authority and authority figures, youth, and the law (shoplifting/vandalism), bike and helmet safety, bullying and making good choices (drugs).  The lessons are preventive in nature and allow students to evaluate the consequences of making poor choices.
