Project Support – Chatham-Kent Police Service
During the period of March 31 to April 11, 2025, the Chatham-Kent Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE), in partnership with the other police services from the Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet across the Province of Ontario took part in Project Support. The purpose of Project Support was to investigate and identify offenders seeking to sexually exploit children on the internet.
During Project Support, 36 people across the Province of Ontario were arrested and charged with a combined total of 128 criminal charges being laid during a proactive child sexual exploitation investigation.
Locally, the CKPS ICE unit assisted with multiple investigations and arrested one 38-year-old Chatham-Kent man after he attempted to meet with a child in person.
A list of arrested persons, their municipality of residence and their respective charges is attached to this media release Addendum Project Support FINAL 22May25. Some of the accused cannot be identified due to a publication ban.
The Provincial Internet Child Exploitation Strategy police partners have noted a significant rise in reports of online child sexual exploitation and child sexual abuse material in recent years. To learn how to keep children safe, go to Canadian Centre for Child Protection.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service is a member of the Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet and conducts investigations into Internet Child Exploitation Offences in partnership with numerous Ontario Police Services and law enforcement agencies worldwide.
