Robbery in Wheatley

Between 1:30am and 2:00am on December 14, 2024, a robbery occurred on Erie Street South, just South of Talbot Road East, Wheatley, Ontario. It was reported that approximately 15 people witnessed the occurrence. The suspect was seen wearing a bright orange construction coat. This is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no concern for public safety.

Man Arrested for Impaired Driving

On 2024-12-14 at approximately 0230hrs a 21-year-old man was observed operating a motor vehicle in Chatham with two flat tires and extensive body damage. The driver was stopped and found to be intoxicated by alcohol. The man was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters and provided breath samples in excess of double the legal limit of 80mg/100ml. The man was also found to have a suspended drivers license as a result of a Stunt Driving conviction. The man’s vehicle was impounded for 45-days under the VIP program, and they were released with a future court date.
Woman Arrested for Impaired Driving

On 2024-12-14 at approximately 0245hrs a 20-year-old Woman was stopped while operating a Motor Vehicle in Blenheim. The woman was arrested for impaired driving and taken to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters. The woman provided breath samples in excess of double the legal limit of 80mg/100ml. Their vehicle was impounded, and they were released with a future court date.
