The Chatham-Kent Police Service Auxiliary Section offers opportunities to members of our community in a volunteer capacity who wish to experience police work through active involvement.
The Auxiliary Section assists the police service at community events such as parades, special events, crowd control, and also accompanies officers on general patrol.
Auxiliary members are selected based on their ability to complete the training program and their availability for service throughout the year. Members commit to at least a two-year term and volunteer for a minimum of 16 hours each month. The members must also attend regular in-service training sessions as set out by the training officer. Initial training consists of 40 hours of instruction in such topics as powers of arrest and criminal code, and physical restraining methods.
If you are interested in volunteering your time as an Auxiliary officer, recruitment is conducted as required, and a notice of recruitment will be posted on this website when applications are being accepted.
