PT ECO Brook-Lyn Phelan,
Born and raised in Chatham-Kent, I grew up going to elementary school in Blenheim and then high school in Chatham. From a young age, sports were a big part of my life; between school and club sports, I was always in an arena, court, or field. Like every kid, I grew up wanting to be many things: a vet, marine biologist, doctor, etc. You don’t hear of many kids wanting to wear a headset and use a radio!
What led me to realize this was the career for me, was my volunteer experiences while I was a student. My first exposure to law enforcement and the type of emergencies community members face on a day-to-day basis was while volunteering as an Auxiliary Officer. I also spent time volunteering with Chatham-Kent Victim Services. After I graduated, I knew I wanted to return to Chatham-Kent to give back to the community, and support those in a time of need.
On my days off, you’ll find me spending time with family and friends, walking my dog, reading a book, or playing sports.
I am very proud to be an ECO for Chatham-Kent Police and honoured to serve the people of Chatham-Kent.
