In September of 2025, the Chatham-Kent Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) received information from the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children that a Chatham-Kent resident was sharing child sexual abuse and exploitation material (CSAEM) on the social media platforms Snapchat and Dropbox.
On November 6, 2025, as part this on-going investigation, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service ICE unit executed a Criminal Code Search warrant at the man’s residence in Wallaceburg. Several electronic devices were seized during a search of the residence.
Through analysis of devices seized, police allege that the man was communicating with multiple persons under the age of 16 and that he was found to be in possession of CSAEM.
On November 19, 2025, the 25-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and charged with several offences including Possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material, accessing child sexual abuse and exploitation material, luring a child and making sexually explicit material available to a child.
The man was held in custody pending a bail hearing and the investigation is continuing.
