On July 30, 2025, the Intelligence Unit obtained a search warrant for a 57-year-old male from Chatham, in connection with an ongoing drug trafficking investigation. Officers also obtained and executed search warrants for two pickup trucks associated with the individual.
At approximately 3:17 p.m., officers located the same individual operating one of the pickup trucks within Chatham and conducted a traffic stop. At that time, the 57-year-old male and a 39-year-old female from Chatham, who was also in the vehicle, were arrested for possession of fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking.
Later that same day, at 3:58 p.m., officers executed the remaining search warrants at the 57-year-old’s residence, where the second vehicle was located. A 66-year-old male from Chatham was located on the premises and was arrested for possession of fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking.
Systematic searches of the two pickup trucks and residence resulted in this seizure of the following items:
-63 grams of fentanyl
-15 grams of cocaine
-35 grams of methamphetamine
-103x 2mg capsules of hydromorphone
-10x 4mg capsules of hydromorphone
-18x 6mg capsules of hydromorphone
-6x 12mg capsules of hydromorphone
-10 liquid capsules
-3 ½ capsules of Buprenorphine
-Digital Scales
-A large quantity of Canadian Currency
-Two handgun BB guns, one of which closely resembles a Glock Handgun.
The total street value of the seized substances is approximately $17,365.
As a result of the investigation, the accused have been charged with the following offences:
The 57-year-old male was charged with the following:
·Count 1: Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (Fentanyl)
·Count 2: Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (Cocaine)
·Count 3: Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (Methamphetamine)
·Count 4: Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (Hydromorphone)
·Count 5: Possession of a controlled substance (Buprenorphine)
·Count 6: Possession contrary to order X2
The 39-year-old female was charged with the following:
·Count 1: Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (Fentanyl)
·Count 2: Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (Cocaine)
·Count 3: Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (Methamphetamine)
·Count 4: Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (Hydromorphone)
·Count 5: Possession of a controlled substance (Buprenorphine)
The 66-year-old male was released unconditionally.
The 57-year-old male and the 39-year-old female were transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where they were released with a scheduled future court date of August 28, 2025.
