The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.

IPV – CK25054411

Date: September 9, 2025, Time: 14:18 hrs., Location: Ridgetown

On September 9, 2025, at approximately 14:18 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a complaint regarding two individual who were bound by release conditions.

Investigations revealed that the accused, a 50-year-old male from Ridgetown, had engaged in ongoing communications with a person they were prohibited from contacting a 45-year-old female also from Ridgetown.

Further investigation revealed that both parties had been communicating with each other between the period of September 6 and September 9, 2025.

Subsequently, both individuals were arrested for the following offence:

  •  Count 1 – Fail to Comply with Undertaking

The individuals were transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters. The male accused was released with a future court date of October 14, 2025, while the female accused was released with a scheduled future court date of September 20, 2025.

Warrants – CK25054552

Date: September 9, 2025, Time: 2341 hrs., Location: Siskind Ct. Chatham

On March 17, 2020, Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a shoplifting complaint at a retail store in Chatham.

Upon investigation and through the reviewing of surveillance footage, it was determined that the accused a 24-year-old female from Chatham attempted to leave the store without making a payment.

The accused was located and charged with the following:

  • Theft under $5000
  • Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000

She was given a scheduled court date on June 29, 2023, which she failed to attend. A warrant was issued for her arrest.

On September 9, 2025, at approximately 23:41hr, Chatham-Kent Police Service officers conducted a person stop while patrolling.

During the investigation, officers confirmed that the individual had multiple outstanding warrants, including a first instance and bench warrant.

Subsequently, she was arrested and charged with the following offence:

  • Failure to Attend

The accused was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service where; she is currently being held for bail.
