The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.

IPV/Warrant – CK25057686/CK25057743

Date: September 23, 2025, Time: 22:41 hrs, Location: Chatham

On September 23, 2025, at approximately 22:41 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a disturbance complaint in Chatham.

Investigations revealed that an argument occurred between two individuals, a 36-year-old male accused from Chatham-Kent and a 28-year-old female victim from Chatham.

The argument escalated into a physical altercation, during which the victim reported being physically assaulted. Further investigation including a review of CCTV footage, revealed that the accused approached the victim and assaulted her. Threats were also made to the victim. A personal item belonging to the victim was also stolen by the accused.

The accused was subsequently charged with the following offences:

  • Count 1: Assault Bodily Harm Choking Section
  • Count 2: Uttering Threats to Cause Death
  • Count 3: Theft under $5000
  • Count 4: Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

The accused was also found to have an outstanding endorsed warrant for failing to attend court on September 19, 2025.

The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he is currently held for bail.

Arrest Stolen MV – CK25057533

Date: September 23, 2025, Time: 00:30hrs, Location: Eugenie Street, Chatham

On September 23, 2025, at approximately 00:30 hrs, Chatham-Kent Police Service officers conducted a traffic stop involving a vehicle travelling on Eugenie Street with a defective headlight.

At the time of the initial stop, the driver, a 34-year-old male from Chatham-Kent, was issued several provincial offence notices. Further investigation revealed that the licence plate on the vehicle did not match the vehicle’s registration. The plates were seized, and the vehicle was towed.

Later that day, officers confirmed that the vehicle had been stolen and that the suspect was found to be in breach of his probation order.

The suspect was located by officers and charged with the following offences:

  • Adult Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 x2
  • Failure to comply with probation order x 3
  • Adult Driving while Under Suspension
  • Adult Driving with Improper Headlights

The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he is currently being held for bail.
