Operation While Impaired – CK26069932, CK26069934, CK26069957, CK26069793
Date: September 19-20, 2026 Location: Chatham-Kent
CK26069932 – On September 20, 2026, at approximately 1436hrs, police were dispatched to a two-vehicle motor vehicle collision on Longwoods Road.
Only minor physical injuries were reported.
While speaking with one of the drivers, the officer noted a strong scent of alcohol on the male’s breath.
He was arrested and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters where he provided samples of his breath.
As a result, a Charing Cross male is facing charges for the following offences:
- Operation While Impaired – Alcohol
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Concentration 80-plus
He was released on a Form 10 with a court date of October 27, 2026.
CK26069934 – On September 20, 2026, at approximately 1452hrs, police were dispatched to an address on Queen Street in Chatham.
A male was located sleeping in his vehicle, which was still running.
The officer formed grounds for Operation While Impaired.
The male was arrested and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service’s headquarters for further testing.
Upon arrival at the station, the male refused to provide samples of his breath.
As a result, a 32-year-old Windsor male faces the following charges:
- Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
- Failure or Refusal to Comply With Demand
He was released on a Form 10 with a court date of October 27, 2026.
CK26069957 – On September 20, 2026, at approximately 1745hrs, police were dispatched to Kay Avenue in Wheatley after a report of people driving erratically and doing donuts.
Through investigation, police formed grounds that the driver had been consuming alcohol.
The officer requested the driver provide a sample of his breath into an Approved Screening Device. After the device registered a “Fail”, the male was arrested and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters for further testing, which revealed a Blood Alcohol Concentration over the legal limit.
A 19-year-old Wheatley male was arrested for Operation Wile Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80-Plus.
He was released on a Form 10 with a court date of October 29, 2026.
CK26069793 – On September 19, 2026, at approximately 2340hrs, police were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere checkpoint on Lacroix Street in Chatham.
Officers noted a vehicle turn into a parking lot to avoid speaking with police.
The officers approached the vehicle and requested the driver provide a sample of his breath into an Approved Screening Device. The device registered a “Fail.”
A 44-year-old Amherstburg male was arrested and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters for further testing, which revealed a Blood Alcohol Concentration over the legal limit.
He faces a charge of Operation Wile Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80-Plus.
He was released on a Form 10 with a court date of October 27, 2026.
Public Intoxication – CK26069523, CK26069558, CK26069582
Date: September 18-19, 2026, 1447hrs Location: Chatham-Kent
CK26069523 – On September 18, 2026, at approximately 1934hrs, police were dispatched to King Street in Chatham regarding a disturbance.
A 19-year-old Chatham male was arrested for Public Intoxication. He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters and lodged until sober.
CK26069558 – On September 18, 2026, at approximately 2250hrs, police were dispatched to Tissiman Avenue regarding an argument between two people.
A 47-year-old Chatham female was arrested for Public Intoxication and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters. She was lodged until sober.
CK26069582 – On September 19, 2026, at approximately 0053hrs, officers witnessed a male party consuming alcohol while riding a long board into oncoming traffic on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg.
The 18-year-old Wallaceburg male was arrested for Public Intoxication.
He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters. Upon his release, he was issued Provincial Offences Notices.
