The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 72 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.

Arrest, Warrants – CK25055222

Date: September 12, 2025, Time: 15:12 hrs, Location: Pine, Chatham

On Friday September 12, 2025, at approximately 15:12 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of damage at local building on Pine Street, Chatham.

It was reported that a suspect entered the building and caused damage to the property. The accused was observed on video inside the building pulling down emergency lighting on two separate floors.

Through investigation and a review of surveillance footage, police identified the accused, a 19-year-old male from Blenheim. The accused was located, arrested and was charged with the following offence:

  • Count 1: Mischief Under $5,000

The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he was released with a future court date of October 29, 2025.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service reminds all residents that acts of vandalism affect the safety and well-being of the community and will be fully investigated.

Arrest, Threats (IPV)- CK25055299

Date: September 12, 2025, Time: 22:23 hrs, Location: Chatham

On September 12, 2025, at approximately 22:23 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence in Chatham.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with both parties and it was determined that one individual, a 53-year-old male from Chatham was intoxicated. During the investigation, police learned of historical threats and a prior incident involving a weapon.

As a result, the individual was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Count 1: Uttering Threats – Cause Bodily Harm 

It was further learned that on September 24, 2024, the accused threatened the victim with a weapon, leading to an additional charge of the following:

  • Count 2: Assault with a Weapon

The accused was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters and was released with a scheduled future court date of October 14, 2025.

Arrest, Impaired – CK25055463

Date: September 13, 2025, Time: 20:21 hrs, Location: Queen St. Chatham

On September 13, 2025, at approximately 20:21 hrs, Chatham-Kent Police responded to a call from a concerned citizen about a vehicle swerving and changing speeds on Queen Street, Chatham.

Officers located the vehicle and conducted a roadside test, which the driver, a 39-year-old male from Chatham failed. He was arrested and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters, where he provided two breath samples registering above the limit.

The individual was charged with the following offence:

  • Count 1: Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to thank the community for reporting dangerous driving behaviours. Impaired driving poses a serious risk to everyone on the road.

Arrest, unlawfully in a Dwelling & Assault – CK25055537

Date: September 13, 2025, Time: 3:36hrs, Location: Churchill Park Rd. Chatham

On September 13, 2025, at approximately 03:36 hrs, Chatham-Kent Police responded to a disturbance at a residence on Churchill Park Road in Chatham.

It was determined that an intoxicated woman had entered the residence without permission and assaulted a 26-year-old female victim.

Officers located the accused a 28-year-old female from Chatham outside of the residence, where she was arrested and charged with the following offence:

  • Count 1: Unlawfully in Dwelling House
  • Count 2: Assault

The individual was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters where, she was released with conditions and a scheduled future court date of October 14, 2025.

Arrest, RPG Theft – CK25055649

Date: September 14, 2025, Time: 19:06 hrs, Location: St. Clair Street, Chatham

On September 14, 2025, at approximately 19:06 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a suspicious person at a local business in Chatham.

Through investigations, officers determined the individual, a 35-year-old male from Chatham-Kent, was in connection to a previous theft incident. The suspect, was located inside the store and was arrested for the following offence:

  • Theft Under $5,000
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

The individual was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters where; he is currently being held for bail.
