The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.
Arrest, Impaired – CK25055080
Date: September 11, 2025, Time: 22:24 hrs, Location: McNaughton Ave, West, Chatham
On September 11, 2025, at approximately 22:24 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service were dispatched to a traffic complaint. Officers canvassed the area and located an off-road vehicle operating without proper plates.
Through investigations, police confirmed that the driver, a 42-year-old male from Thamesville, had been a suspended driver since 2014 due to unpaid fines. Police also determined that the off-road vehicle had been purchased earlier without the necessary supporting documents.
As a result of the investigation, the driver was charged with the following offences:
- Count 1: Driving while under suspension
- Count 2: Owner operates motor vehicle on a highway
- Count 3: Drive off-road vehicle x 2
The accused was also issued several Part III notices and is scheduled to appear in court on October 29, 2025.
Arrest, Warrants – CK25054935
Date: September 11, 2025, Time: 09:47 hrs, Location: Grand Ave West, Chatham
On June 14, 2023, at approximately 10:30 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a mischief complaint involving an ongoing neighbour dispute.
Investigations revealed that the accused, a 38-year-old female from Chatham, approached a vehicle occupied by a victim, a 39-year-old female also from Chatham, and struck the windshield with an object, causing damage.
As a result, the accused was located and arrested. She was charged with the following offences:
- Count 1: Mischief Under $5000
She was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where she was released with a court date of July 17, 2023. The accused failed to appear in court on two separate occasions, and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
On September 11, 2025, at approximately 09:47 hrs, the accused attended court and turned herself in. She was arrested on an outstanding unendorsed warrant for failing to attend court. She was later released with a scheduled future court date of October 10, 2025.
