Stolen Vehicle – CK26074516

Date: October 7, 2026, Time: 14:07 hrs. Location: James Street, Wallaceburg

On October 8, 2026, at approximately 14:07hrs., police received a report that a Chrysler 300 had been stolen from the rear parking area of a business on James Street in Wallaceburg.

Officers reviewed available surveillance footage and observed the vehicle travelling northbound on North Street at approximately 3:45 p.m. The vehicle was subsequently located on Pain Court Line about 45 minutes later.

A 17-year-old Dover Township male was found operating the vehicle and was arrested without incident.

The youth was released into the care of a guardian on a Form 10 with conditions and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on November 18, 2026. They have been charged with mischief under $5000, theft of motor vehicle, and possession of property obtained by crime.

Assault with a Weapon – CK26074568/ CK26074586

Date: October 7, 2026, Time: 18:31 hrs. Location: Third Street, Chatham

On October 7, 2026, at approximately 18:31 hrs., officers responded to the area of the Third Street Bridge and St. Clair Street in Chatham for a report of an assault involving a weapon.

Upon arrival, officers located several individuals involved in a physical altercation. Through the course of the investigation, officers obtained witness statements, video evidence, and recovered a knife believed to have been involved in the incident. Chatham-Kent Police Service Scenes of Crime Officers also attended and processed the scene.

A 38-year-old Harwich Township male was found with an injury to his ear. Following the investigation, he was arrested and charged with Assault with a Weapon

The accused was released on a Form 10 with conditions and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date of January 4, 2027.

An 18-year-old Chatham male was found with minor injuries, including a small wound to his lip and an ankle injury. Following the investigation, he was arrested and charged with Assault.

The accused was released on a Form 10 with conditions and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date of January 5, 2027.

Arson/Stolen Vehicle – CK26074669

Date: October 8, 2026, Time: 3:25 hrs. Location: Third Concession bridge, Wheatley.

On October 8, 2026, at approximately 3:25 a.m., emergency crews responded to a report of a vehicle fire on the Third Concession bridge in Wheatley.

Upon arrival, officers observed firefighters extinguishing a fire involving a black Hyundai Elantra. The vehicle sustained extensive damage and was deemed a total loss.

Through the investigation, officers determined that the vehicle had previously been reported stolen from Windsor. A licence plate reported stolen in a separate Windsor occurrence was also located on the vehicle.
