Date: October 5, 2026, Time: 17:43hrs. Location: Chatham
On October 5, 2026, at approximately 17:43 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of an assault and mischief at a residence in Chatham.
The investigation determined that a 33-year-old male from Windsor physically assaulted a 32-year-old female victim from Chatham at her residence. The accused grabbed the victim several times and damaged property at the residence. The individual left before officers arrived. No injuries were reported.
Officers formed reasonable and probable grounds to charge the accused with the following:
- Mischief – destroy or damage property
- Assault
- Mischief Under $5,000
The accused was later located by police on Queen Street, Chatham. He was arrested and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he was released with conditions and a court date scheduled for November 16, 2026.
