The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.
Break and Enter Residential – CK25065329
Date: October 28, 2025, Time: 19:41 hrs., Location: Baxter Street, Chatham
On October 28, 2025, at approximately 19:41 hrs the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a Break and Enter at a residence on Baxter Street, Chatham.
Upon arrival, officers attended the residence and checked for any points of entry or exit and officers located signs indicating that the residence had been broken into.
Officers entered the residence and located a 41-year-old male from Chatham-Kent and a 38-year-old male from Chatham inside. Both individuals were arrested and charged with the following offence:
Count 1: Break, Enter a Place – with Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence
The individuals were transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where they are currently being held for bail.
Arrest / Theft and Possession – CK25065367
Date: October 28, 2025, Time: 03:36 hrs., Location: Wellington Street West, Chatham
On October 18, 2025, Chatham-Kent Police Service officers responded to a report of a stolen e-bike from a local business on Wellington Street West, Chatham. The victim, a 25-year-old male from Chatham, parked the e-bike outside of the business and entered the store. Upon exiting he discovered it was missing.
Officers attended the business and through the use of surveillance footage, the accused was identified as a 43-year-old male from Chatham-Kent. Police also obtained CCTV footage from a camera on Wellington Street West, Chatham, which captured the theft. A warrant was issued for his arrest.
On October 28, 2025, at approximately 03:36 hrs, Chatham-Kent Police Service located and arrested the accused. Subsequently, he was charged with the following offence:
- Theft Under $5,000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
He was released with conditions and a scheduled court date of December 9, 2025.
