The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 72 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.

Arrest, Impaired – CK25063067

Date: October 17, 2025, Time: 22:31 hrs, Location: James Street at Victoria Ave, Chatham

On October 17, 2025, at approximately 22:31 hrs, while on patrol, Chatham-Kent Police Service officers observed vehicle travelling in a dangerous manner, using the turn lane to travel through the intersection at Grand Avenue and St. Clair Street, Chatham.

A traffic stop was conducted and the driver displayed signs of being impaired by alcohol. Subsequently, the driver, a 21-year-old male from Camden Township, was arrested.

He was charged with the following offences:

  • Count 1- Impaired operation of a motor vehicle

He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he Headquarters for further testing which he failed. The accused was charged additionally with the following offence:

  • Count 2 – Operation while Impaired – Blood alcohol concentration over (80 plus)

He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he was later released with a scheduled future court date of November 4, 2025.

Arrest, Warrants – CK25063229

Date: October 18, 2025, Time: 16:45 hrs, Location: James Street, Wallaceburg

On June 6, 2025, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of theft where an accused, a male had broken into a victim’s vehicle and stolen several personal items.

The victim later reported that unauthorized transactions were made on her debit and credit card at multiple businesses prior to her contacting police.

Through investigations, officers determined that the accused had gained possession of the victim’s wallet and the individual used the stolen cards to make several purchases on June 6, 2025.

Through the use of video surveillance footage, officers were able to identify the accused as a 31-year-old male from Wallaceburg

A warrant was issued for his arrest with the following charges:

  • Count 1: Theft Under $5000.00 Section
  • Count 2: Possession of property obtained by Crime
  • Count 3: Fraud Under $5000.00
  • Count 4: Unauthorized Use of Credit Card Data

On the June 19, 2025, the accused was located and arrested for the above-mentioned charges. He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters where he was released with a court date which he failed to attend. An endorsed warrant was issued for his arrest.

On October 18, 2025, at approximately 16:45 hrs, as a result of a person stop, the accused was arrested on an endorsed warrant for Failing to Attend Court. He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he was later released with conditions and a future court date of November 19, 2025.

Arrest, Obstruct / Resist – CK25063355

Date: October 19, 2025, Time: 07:20 hrs, Location: Queen Street, Tilbury

On October 19, 2025, at approximately 07:20 hrs, Chatham-Kent Police Service officers conducted a traffic stop on Queen Street, Tilbury after observing a vehicle travelling without a working headlight. 

When officers approached the vehicle the driver, 51-year-old female from Windsor refused to identify herself or present her licence as requested. The driver then attempted to conceal her identity using items in her vehicle which obstructed the view of officers.

After several verbal requests from officers, the individual was removed from the vehicle where she resisted arrest.

She was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Count 1 – Drive without proper headlights – Motor Vehicle
  • Count 2 – Fail to identify self
  • Count 3 – Obstruct peace officer
  • Count 4 – Resist Peace Officer

Upon investigation, it was also determined that the accused driver’s licence had been suspended. Subsequently, she was charged with the additional offence:

  • Count 5 – Drive while Under Suspension

The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where she was released with a future court date of November 26, 2025.
