The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.
Arrest/Warrants – CK25062438
Date: October 15, 2025, Time: 09:25hrs, Location: Third Street, Chatham
On September 26, 2023, at approximately 09:25 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of gas theft.
Investigation revealed that a suspect, 33-year-old male from Windsor attended a local gas station on Mill Street West, Tilbury. The individual pumped a quantity of fuel before exiting the area without making a payment. Through further investigation, officers identified the suspect and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On October 15, 2025, at approximately 09:25 hrs, the individual attended the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters. He was arrested on the strength of the outstanding warrant involving theft. The individual was later released with conditions and a scheduled court date for November 10, 2025.
Arrest/Impaired/MVC-FTR – CK25062599
Date: October 15, 2025, Time: 23:26hrs, Location: Forest Street, Chatham
On October 15, 2025, at approximately 23:26 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on Forest Street, Chatham.
Upon arrival, officers noted that the occupant had fled the scene on foot.
Investigations revealed that the vehicle had struck a parked car, lost control and overturned.
Through investigation, officers were able to identify the suspect involved as a 29-year-old male from Chatham.
The individual was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Operation While Impaired- Alcohol
- Failure to Remain
He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters for further testing which he failed. The accused was charged additionally with the following offence:
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
He was later released with a scheduled future court date of November 5, 2025
