The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.

Impaired MVC – CK25067353

Date: November 7, 2025, Time: 22:01 hrs, Location: Grand Avenue West, Chatham

On November 7, 2025, at approximately 22:01hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service officers responded to report of am impaired driver on Grand Avenue West, Chatham.

Police received multiple calls regarding a vehicle that had left a local business and reversed into a pole.

Officers located the vehicle a short time later on Keil Drive South, the driver, a 46-year-old female from Woodsley, was identified as the sole occupant of the vehicle. The driver displayed signs of impairment and was subsequently placed under arrest. The accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where she provided two breath samples, both resulting in failure. She was charged with the following offence:

•Count 1: Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released with a future court date of November 24, 2025.

Arrest Mischief – CK25067521

Date: November 8, 2025, Time: 22:01hrs, Location: Third Street, Chatham

On November 8, 2025, at approximately 20:10 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of mischief at a local business in Chatham.

Investigation revealed that an individual caused damage to the bathroom door of the business and then left the premises.

On November 9, 2025, at approximately 3:30 hrs, officers responded to a similar report. Officers located a male matching the description of the suspect from the earlier incident. The individual provided false information to officers.

Further investigations identified the male as a 28-year-old from Chatham-Kent. The accused was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Count 1 – Mischief under $5,000
  • Count 2 – Obstruct Peace Officer

The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he was released with a scheduled court date of November 10, 2025.

Drugs – CK25067597/CK25067564

Date: November 9, 2025, Time: 00:41hrs, Location: Elizabeth Street, Wallaceburg

On November 9, 2025, at approximately 00:41 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service conducted a traffic stop on Elizabeth Street, Wallaceburg, after observing a traffic violation.

During the traffic stop, officers formed grounds to arrest an occupant of the vehicle for obstructing police. As a result, the party was placed under arrest and was subsequently searched.

As a result, police located a quantity of illicit drugs and other evidence indicative of drug trafficking.  This led to all occupants of the vehicle being identified, arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Count 1: Possession of Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl  
  • Count 2: Possession of Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Count 3: Possession of Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

The 21-year-old male occupant was additionally charged with Obstruct Police and held for bail. He was remanded into custody until his next court appearance.  The three other co-accused were released with a scheduled court date of December 18, 2025.
