The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.

Arrest/Warrants – CK25068573

Date: November 18, 2025, Time: 14:21hrs, Location: Erie Street North, Wheatley

On September 27, 2025, at approximately 14:21 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of theft at a local retail store on Talbot Street East, Wheatley (CK25058556).

Investigations revealed that a female was observed selecting items from a display and placing them into bags without attempting to pay.

A store employee approached the individual and advised her that she was required to pay for the concealed merchandise. The individual ignored the request and proceeded to exit the store, passing all points of sale without making a payment.

Through the use of surveillance footage, the suspect was identified as a 42-year-old female from Wheatley.

Police formed reasonable grounds to charge the accuse with the following offences:

  • Count 1: Theft Under $5,000
  • Count 2: Possession of Property Obtained by Crime 

A warrant was issued for the individual’s arrest. The accused also possessed an endorsed warrant for failing to attend court (RM25000086)

On November 18, 2025, at approximately 14:21 hrs, the accused who is the subject of an unendorsed outstanding warrant was located and arrested on Erie Street North, Wheatley. She was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where she is currently being held for bail.

Arrest/Warrants – CK25069442

Date: November 18, 2025, Time: 15:44 hrs, Location: Exeter Rd, London

The Chatham-Kent Police Service has charged a 35-year-old male from Chatham-Kent in connection with multiple vehicle-related offences and prohibited driving incidents.

Investigations revealed that the accused, a 35-year-old male from Chatham-Kent, repeatedly operated stolen vehicles throughout multiple jurisdictions while prohibited from driving and using unauthorized licence plates not registered to the vehicle. These incidents occurred between February and March 2025,

Police formed probable and reasonable grounds to charge the accused for the following offences:

  • Count 1 – Theft of Motor Vehicle
  • Count 2 – Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 Criminal Code of Canada
  • Count 3 – Operation while Prohibited
  • Count 4 – Operation while Prohibited
  • Count 5 – Driving while Under Suspension
  • Count 6 – Operation while Prohibited
  • Count 7 – Operation while Prohibited
  • Count 8 – Driving while Under Suspension
  • Count 9 – Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
  • Count 10 – Tampering with Vehicle Identification Number
  • Count 11 – Operation while Prohibited
  • Count 12 – Operation while Prohibited
  • Count 13 – Driving while Under Suspension
  • Count 14 – Use Plate not Authorized for Vehicle
  • Count 15 – Operation while Prohibited
  • Count 16 – Operation while Prohibited
  • Count 17 – Driving while Under Suspension
  • Count 18 – Use Plate not Authorized for Vehicle
  • Count 19 – Use Plate not Authorized for Vehicle
  • Count 20 – Operation while Prohibited
  • Count 21 – Operation while Prohibited
  • Count 22 – Driving while Under Suspension
  • Count 23 – Use Plate not Authorized for Vehicle
  • Count 24 – Use Plate not Authorized for Vehicle

A warrant was issued for his arrest.

On November 17, 2025, at approximately 15:44 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service attended the Elgin Middlesex Detention Centre and arrested the accused who was wanted on an outstanding warrant related to theft. He was provided with a future court date of December 23, 2025. The accused still remains in custody at Elgin Middlesex OPP.

Arrest/Warrants – CK25069456/CK25069495

Date: November 18, 2025, Time: 16:34 hrs, Location: Nelson Street, Wallaceburg

On November 18, 2025, at approximately 16:34 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a residence in Wallaceburg, where an individual who possessed an active court imposed court conditions was present at Nelson Street, Wallaceburg.

Upon investigation, it was also revealed that his surety had been revoked and that he also possessed an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

Officers attended the residence, located and arrested a 36-year-old male from Wallaceburg.

During the arrest, officers determined the individual was in the company of another person, a 33-year-old female from Chatham, which was in violation of his release conditions.

Subsequently, he was charged with the following offences:

  • Facilitate Breach of Probation Order x 2

Further investigations also revealed that the 33-year-old female individual was also in breach of her court-order conditions and was also charged with the following offences:

  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order x2

Subsequently, both individuals were transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where they are currently being held for bail.

Arrest/FTC – CK25069499

Date: November 18, 2025, Time: 21:26 hrs, Location: King Street, Chatham

On November 18, 2025, at approximately 21:26 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of an uninvited entry into a residence on King Street, Chatham.

Investigations revealed that a 22-year-old male from Chatham-Kent entered a 21-year-old male complainant’s residence without permission. Further investigation also revealed that the accused is currently bound by a Probation Order which includes conditions not to communicate with the complainant.

The individual was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Failure to Comply with Probation Order x2
  • Unlawfully in Dwelling House

Subsequently, he was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he is currently being held for bail.
