The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 48 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.
Traffic Enforcement – CK25067815
Date: November 10, 2025, Time: 08:38 hrs, Location: Merlin Road, Raleigh Township
On November 10, 2025, at approximately 08:38 hrs, Chatham-Kent Police Service officers conducted a traffic stop following an Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) alert on Merlin Road, Raleigh Township.
Upon investigation, it was revealed that the driver, a 54-year-old male from Chatham, was found to be operating a vehicle while under suspension.
The individual was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Count 1: Operation While Prohibited
- Count 2: Drive While Under Suspension
- Count 3: Fail to have Interlock in Vehicle
He was issued several Part III summonses and released with conditions and a scheduled court date of December 30, 2025. His vehicle was towed and impounded.
Trespass – CK25067832
Date: November 10, 2025, Time: 09:56 hrs, Location: Grand Avenue West, Chatham
On November 10, 2025, at approximately 09:56 hrs, Chatham-Kent Police Service officers responded to a report of a trespasser at a local business on Grand Avenue West, Chatham.
The individual had been previously issued multiple trespass notices for the same business and was observed again at the property. The presence of the individual has caused disruptions to nearby businesses and customers.
Officers located the accused at the local business and following an investigation, he was arrested and charged with the following offence:
- Count 1: Mischief
He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he was released with conditions and a future court date or December 16, 2025.
Weapons – CK25068161
Date: November 11, 2025, Time: 21:23 hrs, Location: Dauw Ave, Wallaceburg
On November 11, 2025, at approximately 21:23 hrs, Chatham-Kent Police Service officers responded to a report of an individual in a vehicle with a firearm on Dauw Ave, Wallaceburg.
Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle and discovered a firearm inside the vehicle. A 23-year-old-male from Wallaceburg was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Count 1: Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Count 2: Careless Storage of a Firearm
The individual was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he was released with a future court date of December 22, 2025.
