Location: Queens Line, Tilbury
On Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at approximately 21:35hrs, the Chatham-Kent police service responded to a traffic complaint regarding a vehicle that was reportedly unable to maintain is lane of travel. Officers located the vehicle shortly thereafter and conducted a traffic stop. Through investigation, officers formed grounds to believe the drivers ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol. As a result, a 34-year-old male from Essex County was arrested and transported to Chatham-Kent police headquarters for further testing.
The 34-year-old male from Essex County has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired
- Operation while impaired – Blood alcohol concentration over 80mg
The 34-year-old male was released with a future court date of June 29, 2026.

Location: Grand Avenue East, Chatham
On Tuesday, May 5, 2026, members of the Chatham-Kent police service responded to a disturbance at a licensed establishment in Chatham.
Through investigation officers learned that during a verbal altercation, one individual allegedly made threats toward another person and engaged in aggressive behaviour.
As a result, a 22-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with:
- Two counts of Uttering Threats
- One count of Assault
The accused was transported to Chatham-Kent police headquarters where he is currently being held for a bail hearing.
