Date: May 28, 2026, 22:11 hrs

Location: Tweedsmuir Avenue West, Chatham, ON

On Thursday, May 28, 2026, at approximately 22:11 hrs, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a disturbance taking place during a local fair event on Tweedsmuir Avenue West in Chatham.

Through investigation, officers learned two individuals became involved in a verbal altercation which escalated when one person spat on the other and chased them while holding an aerosol canister of dog repellent containing capsaicin.

Further investigation revealed the accused was bound by a probation order prohibiting the possession of weapons.

As a result, a 18-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order.

The accused was then transported to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters where she was held for bail.

Breach of Probation – CK26038357

Date: May 28, 2026, 23:35 hrs

Location: Raleigh Street, Chatham, ON,

On Thursday, May 28, 2026, at approximately 23:35 hrs, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a residence in Chatham after receiving information that a male was breaching court-ordered probation conditions.

Through investigation, officers learned the accused was within prohibited distances of the victim’s residence, contrary to existing probation conditions. Police reviewed surveillance footage and conducted patrols in the area, locating the accused nearby.

As a result, a 29-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with:

  • Two counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused was then transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service where he was held for bail.
