Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) – CK26037567

Location: Chatham, ON
On Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at approximately 07:00 hrs, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to an address in Chatham for an IPV complaint. Through investigation, officers learned that an altercation had occurred between two individuals known to one another. The victim was able to leave the residence and seek assistance from a nearby resident before police arrived.
As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with one count of assault.
The accused was then transported to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters where he was held pending a bail hearing.

Date: May 26, 2026, 15:27 hrs
On May 26, 2026, at approximately 15:27 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a disturbance at a Motel on Grand Avenue East, Chatham.
Investigations revealed that an accused, a 40-year-old male from Chatham, was damaging property, yelling, and threatening to destroy the room.
Officers attended the area and located the male. Subsequently, he was arrested and charged with the following:
- Count 1: Mischief Under $5,000
- Count 2: Uttering Threats
The accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters wherehe was later released with conditions and a court date of August 24, 2026.
