The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.
Arrest, Mischief – CK26017086
Date: March 9, 2026, Time: 11:24 hrs., Location: Talbot, Blenheim
On March 9, 2026, at approximately 11:24 hrs, while conducting foot patrol, a Chatham-Kent Police Service officer was approached by a citizen who reported observing two masked male individuals stripping wire from air conditioning units at a business located on Talbot Street in Blenheim.
Police attended the area and located the suspects. A 43-year-old male from Blenheim and a 43-year-old male from Chatham-Kent were arrested and charged with the following:
- Theft Under $5,000
- Possession Under $5,000
- Mischief Over $5,000
Both individuals were transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where they are currently being held for bail.
Arrest, Assault – CK26017178
Date: March 9, 2026, Time: 17:18 hrs., Location: Tilbury
On March 9, 2026, at approximately 17:18 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of an assault between two individuals on Young Street, Tilbury.
Investigations revealed that a dispute between two individuals escalated when the accused, a 41-year-old male from Chatham, physically assaulted a 70-year-old male from Tilbury, causing minor injury. No additional medical attention was required.
As a result of the investigation, the accused was charged with the following offence:
- Count 1 – Assault
He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he was released with a scheduled court date of May 19, 2026.
Arrest, Warrants– CK26017061
Date: March 9, 2026, Time: 10:46 hrs., Location: Tilbury
On August 12, 2025, at approximately 17:45 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to an assault incident involving two individuals at a residence in Tilbury.
Investigations revealed that an argument between the individuals escalated and the accused, a 36-year-old male from Aylmer, caused damage to the interior walls of the residence.
As a result of the investigation the accused was charged with the following:
- Mischief under $5,000 x 2
The accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he was released with a scheduled future court date of September 23, 2025, which he failed to attend.
Subsequently, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On March 9, 2026, at approximately 10:46 hrs., the accused surrendered himself at the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he was arrested on the strength of his outstanding warrant. The accused was later released with a scheduled court date of March 30, 2026.
