Date: March 3, 2026, Time: 09:55 hrs., Location: Grand Avenue, Chatham
On January 20, 2026, at approximately 16:55 hours, Chatham-Kent Police responded to a theft report at a grocery store on Queen Street, Chatham. The complainant, an employee of the store, reported that a female suspect left the premises carrying stolen goods and made no attempt to pay for the items. Further investigation revealed that a second female arranged transportation for both individuals to the store, indicating her involvement in the theft.
The investigation identified two individuals involved in this incident when neither could be located warrants were issued for their arrest.
On March 3, 2026, the first accused, a 33-year-old Chatham woman was arrested by court staff when she attended the Ontario Court of Justice on Grand Avenue West, Chatham. She was transported to police headquarters and is currently being held for a bail hearing. She has been charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by crime.
The second female, a 36-year-old Chatham woman is still wanted on an outstanding warrant for theft under $5000.

On May 15, 2025, Chatham-Kent Police began a weapons investigation on Taylor Avenue in Chatham, which involved a search of the residence. The search warrant produced a number of weapons, ammunition and a controlled substance.
As a result of the investigation, the suspect was arrested and charged with the following:
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon (brass knuckles)
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon (butterfly knife)
- Possession contrary to order (multiple firearms and ammunition)
- Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking a schedule 1 substance (fentanyl)
The suspect was taken into custody, held for bail and subsequently released by the court with surety.
On March 3, 2026, the 36-year-old Chatham man was arrested by court staff when he attended the Ontario Court of Justice on Grand Avenue West, Chatham regarding a surety revocation warrant. He is currently being held pending a bail hearing.

On March 1, 2025, at 23:57 hours, Chatham-Kent Police initiated a welfare check on a 35-year-old female due to a concern for her safety.
Despite extensive searches at various locations police were unable to locate her. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact Chatham-Kent Police.
