Date: June 5, 2025, Time: 12:10hrs., Location: Sunset Crescent, Tilbury
At approximately 12:10hrs, Chatham-Kent Police responded to a report of an assault that took place on Sunset Crescent in Tilbury. The incident occurred when an individual was walking with friends and was unexpectedly approached and punched in the nose by another individual.
As a result of the altercation, the 18-year-old Tilbury man was arrested and subsequently charged with assault. He was released with conditions and a future court date of July 9, 2025.

At approximately 14:00hrs, Chatham-Kent Police were called to headquarters regarding a reported incident involving threats. The situation arose at a local north-end restaurant where an employee accidentally caused minor damage to a colleague’s vehicle due to a gust of wind pushing her car door.
In response to the incident, the colleague became agitated and threatened to assault the employee. The police were notified, and the individual making the threats was subsequently arrested.
The 32-year-old Chatham man has been charged with uttering threats and released with conditions and a future court date of July 14, 2025.

Date: June 5, 2025, Time: 14:15hrs., Location: St. Clair Street, Chatham
On June 5, 2025, at approximately 14:15hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a robbery incident that occurred at a local department store. The accused, a male, was observed selecting various items within the store, including a bicycle. As he attempted to exit the store without paying for the items, he was confronted by loss prevention staff.
During the confrontation, the accused brandished a pocketknife in a threatening manner towards one of the staff members, who was attempting to detain him. The accused fled the scene but was pursued by the loss prevention team, who promptly contacted police and provided real-time updates on his location.
At approximately 15:33hrs, police located the accused on Gregory Drive and arrested him. Officers also confirmed the man was bound by two probation orders with a condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
The 34-year-old Chatham man was transported to police headquarters where he was held for bail. He has been charged with the following offences:
• Count 1: Theft under $5000, contrary to section 334(b)
• Count 2: Possession under $5,000 contrary to section 355(b)
• Count 3: Robbery with a weapon contrary to section 344 (1) (b)
• Count 4: Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose contrary to section 88
• Count 5: Fail to Comply with Probation contrary to section 733.1
• Count 6: Fail to Comply with Probation contrary to section 733.1
• Count 7: Fail to comply with undertaking contrary to section 145(4)(a)
