Mischief – CK26047136
Date: June 29, 2026, 1509hrs Location: Wellington Street, Chatham
On June 29, 2026, at approximately 1509hrs, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a mischief complaint on Wellington Street.
A male was observed by a witness entering a vehicle. The suspect then proceeded to take a knife and cut the soft top roof. Officers located the male still inside the vehicle.
As a result, a 33-year-old Chatham-Kent man was charged with the following offences:
- Mischief under $5000
- Failure to Comply with Release Order
He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters and held for bail.
Assault Police Officer – CK26047262
Date: June 30, 2026, 0045hrs Location: Pine Street, Chatham
On June 30, 2026, at approximately 0045hrs, police were conducting a focused patrol on Pine Street when an officer was approached by an agitated female.
She proceeded to strike the officer in the chest. She sustained minor physical injuries during the arrest and was transported to hospital for an assessment.
As a result, a 25-year-old Chatham female was arrested for:
- Assault Peace Officer
- Resist Peace Officer
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
Upon release, the female faces a future court date.
