Theft – CK26053326

Location: Grand Avenue West, Chatham, ON
On Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at approximately 07:30 hrs, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a theft complaint at a business in the area of Grand Avenue West in Chatham.
Through investigation police learned a male suspect entered a store and alcoholic beverages and left the store making no attempt to pay for the items.
As a result of the investigation a 57-year-old Chatham male was located and arrested for:
- Theft under $5,000
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
The accused was transported to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters where he was released on an undertaking with a future court date of October 13, 2026.
Assault – CK26053436

Location: Grand Avenue West, Chatham, ON
On Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at approximately 16:01 hrs, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to an assault call in the area of Grand Avenue West in Chatham.
Through investigation police learned a male party had spat on a security guard after a verbal dispute.
As a result, a 42-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with:
- Assault
The accused was then released on an appearance notice with a future court date of October 13, 2026.
