The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events, including arrests, investigations, and other notable occurrences.

CK25043197- Arrest/Warrants

Date: July 22, 2025, Time: 07:25 hrs, Location: 24 Third Street, Chatham

On July 30, 2024, the Chatham-Kent Police Service conducted a traffic stop in Chatham, during which the driver provided false identification. The driver, a 22-year-old female from Hamilton was arrested for obstructing police and possession of forged documents.

Upon investigation, a large quantity of cash and a scale were located inside of the vehicle.

On August 7, 2024, members of the Intelligence Unit conducted a systematic search of the vehicle which resulted in the discovery and seizure of the following items:

  • 129.73 grams of cocaine with an approximate street value of $12,973
  • 1,986.74 grams of methamphetamine (with an approximate street value of $119,204.40
  • 221.99 grams of fentanyl with an approximate street value of $55,497.50
  • $1,870 in Canadian currency
  • Two digital scales
  • A prohibited weapon
  • A gold watch

As a result, reasonable grounds existed to charge the accused with the following offences:

  • Count 1: Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purposes of Trafficking
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purposes of Trafficking
  • Count 3: Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purposes of Trafficking
  • Count 4: Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or restricted

She was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters and scheduled to appear in court on September 6,2024, which she failed to attend, and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

On July 21, 2025, at approximately 07:25hrs, the individual turned herself in at the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters in relation to her outstanding warrant. She is currently being held for bail.

CK25043241- Arrest/IPV

Date: July 22, 2025, Time: 11:40hrs, Location: Wallaceburg

On July 22, 2025, at approximately 11:40hrs, Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of an intimate partner violence incident in Wallaceburg.

Upon arrival, officers located both a 23-year-old male and a 22-year-old female both from Wallaceburg outside of the residence. Following an investigation, it was determined that the individuals were involved in a volatile relationship with a history of incidents involving threats, firearm possession and property damage.

As a result, the 23-year-old male was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Assault with a Weapon x4
  • Pointing a firearm x2
  • Possession of weapons for a Dangerous Purpose x2
  • Uttering Threats
  • Cruelty to Animals- unnecessary pain, suffering or injury
  • Mischief Under $5,000 x5

He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he is currently being held for bail.
